Nick Staggenborg doesn't just report on triathlon – he lives the sport himself. As managing director and one of the best-known faces of Pushing Limits, he develops content and new formats for the endurance sports community. At the same time, he regularly lines up at the start himself and knows the challenges of balancing training, competition, work and family from personal experience.
Nick Staggenborg and Pushing Limits
Pushing Limits was initially launched in 2015 as Jan Peiniger's personal triathlon blog and developed over the following years into an independent platform for triathlon and endurance sports. Nick Staggenborg joined in 2020 after Pushing Limits merged with the Triathlon Crew Cologne, which he helped shape. Since the end of 2022, Nick has been responsible for its continued development and is now managing director of Pushing Limits Mediahouse GmbH.
Today, Pushing Limits combines podcasts, videos and editorial content covering training, competitions and the triathlon scene. Nick is active both in front of and behind the camera and contributes his own experience as an athlete. Together with coach Nils Goerke, for example, he discusses training and current topics in endurance sports on the Triathlon Chat.

What is the Pushing Limits Club?
The Pushing Limits Club is a digital training platform for triathletes, runners, cyclists and other endurance athletes. Among other things, it combines training planning, analysis, AI-supported feedback, nutrition, and strength and athletic training.
This makes the Club a logical evolution of Pushing Limits: content about training has become a tool that enables athletes to plan and evaluate their own preparation.

Challenge Roth: When sporting goals change
Nick's own triathlon story is closely connected with Challenge Roth. He completed his first long-distance race there in 2011, reaching the finish after 9:06:54 hours.
Eleven years later, he returned and set a new personal best in 2022 with a time of 8:46:30 hours.
In 2026, the starting point was different. In his new Roth project, the focus was not on the next personal best, but on the question of how ambitious long-distance triathlon can be combined with work and family. Nick finished Roth in 9:22:32 hours.
These three starts show how sporting goals can change with your personal circumstances. The ambition remains – only the definition of success shifts.

Nick's gloryfy favorites: G40 and G31
Especially during long cycling and running sessions, sports glasses should cause as little distraction as possible while providing reliable protection. For Nick, a secure and stable fit with individually adjustable temples, a wide field of vision, low weight and good ventilation are particularly important.
Nick's tip: “Take a moment at the beginning to adjust the temples to the shape of your head. This way, the glasses sit exactly where they should – comfortably and securely.”
His preferred models include the gloryfy G40 flatline and the G31 by Frederic Funk. With its large Shield, the G40 flatline provides extensive visibility and protection and is particularly suitable for longer bike rides and time trial bikes. The rimless G31 is lightweight, well ventilated and also offers a wide field of vision – features that are relevant both when cycling and running.
Both sports glasses are made from NBFX™ Spezialkunststoff and produced by gloryfy in Tyrol. The material combines low weight with high durability – a sensible choice for equipment that is regularly put to the test during training, competitions and travel.

Pushing Limits doesn't always mean going faster
At Pushing Limits, Nick combines his work with his own passion for triathlon. His story shows that sporting ambition doesn't always have to mean chasing the next personal best.
Sometimes it's about getting faster. Sometimes it's about fitting training into a busy everyday life. And that's exactly why, alongside motivation, you need equipment you can rely on over many hours of training – for Nick, the G40 and G31 from gloryfy are part of that.
