The Search: Japow in Switzerland
For the second trip Fabian Lentsch and me teamed up in the van again, this time with Swiss photographer – and maybe one of the best „with-camera-backpack-riders“ – Jonas Blum as addition.
We were stoked on the weather forecasts for Central and South Switzerland and were hoping to catch up with all the powder-faceshot-pictures from Japan popping up on facebook lately … and in the end I think we did! 🙂
First stop was Andermatt, were we met up with an old Norwegian friend, who (together with Eric Zeller and friends) showed us the Andermatt terrain for sweet mini golf lines and nice cliff drops. Thanks for everything guys, I had good times with you all! 🙂
The weather for the next day was overcast and we decided to travel south where we expected a good amount of more snow and some good treeruns …
We were super stoked to enjoy the powderfilled tecino treeruns and ended up having the absolutely deepest, most amazing powder turns and softest landings this season.
Thanks Jonas for the Pics and for showing us how well one can ski and even jump cliffs with a 15 kg camera backpack!
One love,
Markus Ascher
P.S.: And if you haven´t seen it, check out Fabian´s last season and his way to the freeride world tour here!
